Stretching just not doing what you want it to be doing? Maybe it's time to try something a little different.
Join Paula for one, or all, of her upcoming Centered Self Care Series ~ The Myofascial Release Triad.
These guided self care classes are designed to empower you get back into your body during your stretching and self care routines. This helps you fine tune your self care practices, and meet your body where it's at ~ multiplying your effectiveness.
Join us for:
Basics: Thursday, 7/10 at 9:30 am
Jiggling: Thursday, 7/17 at 9:30 am
Unwinding: Thursday, 7/31 at 9:30 am
This first series allows us to dive into the different aspects of the John Barnes' Approach to Myofascial Release. We have a class dedicated to each of the 3 main components to this work.
The structural aspect (Basics) : Where we do the thing. We apply pressure, tension, or stretch to an area of the body to reduce pain and tension. For this class, we use an air-filled ball to address your problem area(s).
The mind aspect (Jiggling): We create a gentle rock or rhythm in your body to reduce chronic bracing, calm the nervous system, and improve lymph fluid flow. It's also a great way to shake off the stresses of the day! We use music and different styles of bouncing to get different results! This class can feel a bit silly and is best done with an open mind.
The soul aspect (Unwinding): We tap into your natural innate healing mechanisms to intuitively move your body into a more healthful state of being. This can create space for your body/mind/soul to process and heal things on a deep level ~ if/when you allow your body and mind to naturally self correct. We combine Basics, Jiggling, and Open Intent to follow your body's flow.
These classes can be taken individually, but I recommend using all aspects for optimal self care. It's what's been working for me.
To create a more healing environment, I am limiting each class to 4 participants.
Each of these 45-minute classes begins with a brief discussion of the aspect/theme for the class. We talk about why it's helpful, what it's helpful for, and how to reproduce results at home. You are then guided through a series of stretches and self care practices to decrease your pain or tension while increasing your body awareness. You leave feeling a little lighter, a little calmer, and with some more tools for your self care kit.
Each class is $20 and comes with written guidance for home practice.
