What's in a name?

When I originally started Ohana, I wanted to cultivate an environment in which people were cared for as if they were a beloved family member. Ohana means family after all. And if you’ve ever watched Lilo & Stitch, you know that family means no one gets left behind or forgotten.

While I still believe family is important, and I still love being able to offer hope for healing to those “left behind” by the traditional medical system, that viewpoint is a bit narrower than the current version of me dreams of.

Some of you may think that there’s a bit of ego in that name. That I believe I have a magic touch. I actually don’t, but that’s what clients have told me over the years.

As a business name, A Touch of Magic means so, so, soooo much more to me than what my hands may or may not be capable of.

✨ To me, A Touch of Magic, represents my dream of encouraging people to add more magic to their lives.

✨ To tap into the magic that’s already within them, they’ve simply forgotten about it.

✨ To embody the magic and the wonder that’s in the world all around us, we just get distracted by all the seriousness and functionality of it all.

✨ To give people an excuse/reason/permission to feel the lightness/joy/relief that comes with truly living life, not just producing your whole life.

✨ To feel the magic return to their lives.

✨The magic of living life by their unique design.

✨ Because life is a bit better with A Touch of Magic. ✨

My goal is to create a space for people to reconnect with their own magic, and while that has something to do with the skills my hands hold, it’s so much more than that.

My hope is that you embrace/embody/own/show up with/share your own unique magic with the world. It certainly needs it.

✨💗 ✨
